ignition timing adjustment = help on reading the marks

Hi,

I have a 94 Nissan XE Pickup truck (4 cyclinders)...I hooked up a timing lights and everything trying to see if my timing is correct....when reading it (with engine running of course), I saw about 4 marks on the crank pulley...My timing is at the second mark to the left (with timing light's dial at 10 deg, which is what factory timing should be for my truck) --- see below:

-------------- My timing here (with gun's dial at 10 deg)

What is my timing? Is it on target? I couldn't tell which mark...which mark is stock (10 BTDC) and which is "0" BTDC ??

If I recall correctly, I've got 5 timing marks on mine ('95 KA24E).

0 5 10 15 20

If you set your gun at 10* advanced, your timing should be at the 0 mark. If you set your gun at 0* advanced, your timing should show at or near the second mark, which is 10*. I took a bottle of whiteout and "painted" the second mark on my damper. Setting the timing was much easier that way.

I'll bring in the Haynes manual to work tomorrow and scan the page that shows the timing marks. Pictures tell a thousand words.
