help...battery issue

ok...the last few weeks I have noticed that the positive terminal on the battery has alot of corrosion on it and if we drive for awhile and turn on and off alot, it wont crank and have to be jumped...
I havent had a chance to test the battery or the altenator
Has anyone else had this issue
BTW, its a 2001 xterra se.

Clean the battery terminals and the cables and your problem will probably go away.

True^ clean them and you'll be okay.

I recommend using maintenance free batteries,

but that coupled with high conduction battery terminals, wiring and good ground wires and ground points would be better. But a new maintenance free battery would already suffice

Have your battery tested for free somewhere.. try using a optima sealed battery. I just had allot of corrosion problems with my stock battery (96) It still worked perfect. But corrosion destroyed the positive end.

Make sure the end of the cable that connects to the new end is corrosion free. Pure copper no green stuff. Corrosion wicks down the cable...
