88 nissan with NapZ motor turbocharged

MY friend has a 88 Nissan Hardbody that he turbocharged and now the factory clutch is not holding up. Can anybody recommend a clutch that would fit his 88 hardbody with 5 spd transmission with better clamping power but not harsh like the ACT clutch?

thanks,

Eric

Try this Link

This might help you out for what you want they have different stages. This is also for the 2.4L engine, I assumed he had. If he has anything different they have just about every other offering available.

I have the exedy sport kit in my truck(ka24e) but its the same clutch according to exedy. I went with exedy because its a diakim product, hince OEM.

http://www.coximport.com/exedy/organic.html list a 59% stiffer than stock clutch that would fit.

I got mine for $300 shipped.

Ram(lots of new stuff), centerforce, clutchmasters,

http://nopionline.com/ sell centerforce, clutchmasters and few others.

As long as you go with an organic disk(stock style) you won't have a rough engagement. My wife doesn't realize that I actually have a stiffer clutch.

If he has time he can have the flywheel lightened at www.racetep.com I had it done to mine and I really like it. It cost $160 plus shipping cost. $205 was my total bill. They were able to take a good 6-8 pounds off. I used racetep because they've never had a failure. I wish that I had told them to be agressive as safety would allow. I would point out that you might be able to find a lighter unit if you shop.

One other thing is that I have an ACT clutch in my SER and its a quality piece also

thanks lovemysan,

my brother also installed an exedy clutch on his 93 Nissan Hardbody, we wasn't sure that the same clutch would fit since it was different year and engine. And for lightening his flywheel, we already have a shop that we deal with here in Maui, Hawaii

ACT has that clutch listed as 225mm. Exedy has it listed as a 240mm. You could ask a dealer to look it up in a service manual. I would trust exedy. ACT is a good company tho.
The reason I suggested racetep is because there a trusted company to do that. I had no one around where I live that could do it. Good luck

What exhaust manifold did he use for that turbo setup. It reminds me of a ca18et
