94 nissan quest OBD

have a 94 nissan quest.
I have been told that it is neither OBD1 or OBD2,
but something in between. Can someone shed some light on this for me please? Maybe it would be possible
to jury rig an OBD1 onto this minivan? Thanks very much in advance.

To the moderator: too bad I am stuck in the newbie's forum, I wanted to post in the tech forum. Life is a blur, there's no chance I will get back here exactly 48 hours from now.

OBDII started in 96 so I would think it's safe to assume it's OBDI.
