My fuel gauge reads empty with a full tank. I took off the cluster and tested the sensor wire to ground. It is open. Has anyone seen this, is it common? Is there something I can check before the tank comes down? Thanks in Advance.

Does the needle do up and down? or does it just stay at empty?

Just stays at empty, or about 1/2 below empty. Green/yellow wire shows infiniite resistance to ground (no continuity). Just wondering if anyone else had seen this.
