I suggest checking the fuse and take it to the dealer to have it checked more throughly...there might be a malfunction/defect in your airbag..Hope this helps..
Leave the drivers side door open
turn the key to on
airbag light should iluminate
while it is still lit, press the door ajar button 5 times not to fast( located somewhere in the door sill)(better known as the little thingy that turns the inside light on).
*Then turn the key to off (not for sure if you should wait until light goes off or not)
Then turn it back on should blink 7 times and go off.
mine was like this for 3.5 years. The dealer wanted 600.00 bucks to reset the compu... excuse me replace the computer.
It may take you a few times to get it right but keep trying.
Let us know if it fixes it.

The haynes nor the chiltons will tell you anything about the airbag. It could be the airbag controller or one of the sensors. About the only way to find is take it to the dealer. Have them diagnose it and by the parts salvage Fix it yourself
goodluck

My God I am lucky... My wife has been dreading that during my car audio and alarm install into the new nissan, i would break something.... well to be on the safe side i dissconnected the airbags whilst probing around the wiring.... Plugged them back in, and low and behold Mr. Flashing airbag light doesn't extinguish.... Thanks to this thread I was saved.... No longer am i in the doggy box with the wife.... The nissan dealer reckoned 300 slides to fix it, but instead 5 little presses of the dome light fixed it...
