I run a 265/70-16 on a 16 x8.5 wheel with a zero offset. It rubbed a little (could hear it but not find any evidence of rubbing) until I cranked my torsion bars up slightly back to stock height (they had sagged).

For non metric you can go as large as 31"

Like Mike said, 31's. Most SE's if the original buyer opted for it came stock with 31's.

Some though depending on tire brand may have to adjust the steering stops as they rub the frame.

Wow your pathfinder sounds trick, maybe it might be NPM worthy?

I don't think it will work unless you keep your tire width small. I have tried 34 X 10.5 X 15 swampers with a 4" inch lift on a 89 pathy and they did not hit the body while offroading but your steering is limited because the tires will hit the frame.

Are those steering stops on the knuckle adjustable? I haven't tried to adjust them, but they appear that they might be. That would be an easy way to keep the tires from hitting the frame at full lock -- change the length of those steering stops.

Yes they are. Just a lock nut as you probably noticed.

3+3=33" is the usuall combo for 33's. (3" body, 3" suspension)

Though, with some trimming, proper backspacing, and tire width as mentioned, anything is possible.

In theory, you might be able to go taller while keeping the same width, but I think you'll have to look long and hard for a tire available in a 33x10.50 size. I don't remember seeing any that size. They may be out there, but I think your selection would be reduced. I would check to be sure the tire brand and model you want is available in that size before asking about it at the tire shop.

BFG makes a 33x10.5 in a M/T but not sure about the A/T's?. Like Jason said, that size is very hard to come by. Maybe Interco?

Yeah they are adjustable. I turned mine all the way in as the stock turning radius was bad.
