R16 tire question for a change

Hey all! Just picked up a bright red 01 Pathy LE 4x4 and I am loveing every minute of it. I have a minor issue regrding tires though.

I have seen tons of posts on going with 31's on a 15 but nothing about what to do if you have 16's... I am thinking of trying some 265/70R16's but have yet to hear a peep about how it might do. (and before everyone starts in, I have read the posts and have alredy narrowed it down to BFG A/T KO's or Bridgestone Dueler A/T REVO's)

It looks like I have about 2" clearance to the wheel well on the front tires when turned to about 20-30 deg (no lift yet, holding out for better than the 2" spring kit hopefully). but I can't be sure if they might scrub the insides...

Well, I guess my question is has a few parts...

1) Has anyone tried the tire size I am thinking of on a similar rig?

2) Has anyone tried larger tires on a similar rig?

3) When I do my major changeover, will I be better off in the long run buying 15" forged alumnium rims instead of 16"?

4) Anyone tried the 2" spring lift on this rig and if so how much did it improve your clearance/look(I see lots of posts on older odels doing it but not many on the same rig)?

5) (and last I promise)(this post that is) Anyone have pics of a 2001 pathy 4x4 with 265/70R16's on it?

Any help or wisdom is appreciated.

Chip

One thing to keep in mind, when you go with bigger than stock since tires you will loose power and your gas mileage will suffer too. Also you will not have correct speedometer/ odometer readings. Remember, bigger tire will need more power to turn them. This puts stress on your engine and wears your transmition out faster.

265/75/16, will need a little of lift, or it will rub when you make full turns.

I have 265/70/16's on my xterra and they are huge, I can't imagine they would fit well on the 01 le pathfinder. I have a 97 se pathfinder with the 265/70/15's and the xterra tires look a lot bigger. what lift are you talking about for the pathfinder? I didn't know there was one available.
