01 pathfinder has a rotten egg smell

my 01 pathfinder has a rotten egg smell coming from the exaust.also i never get more than 10mpg thats highway city is even less.
are these things related? if not how to resolve these two problems

Ask your dealer or consult your warranty card regading warranty coverage...

As for it getting bad...some catalytic converters require the use of a high octane fuel...it could go bad quickly when not using the specified fuel.

WITH A PROPERLY TUNED ENGINE A CAT. CONVERTER SHOULD LAST ALMOST FOREVER.YOUR ENGINE MUST HAVE A MISFIRE AND/OR BE RUNNING RICH OR SOMETHING TO MESS UP THE CONVERTER ALREADY ESPECIALLY WITH THE BAD MILEAGE YOU ARE GETTING SOMETHING IS NOT RIGHT.CHECK THE ENGINES STATE OF TUNE BEFORE REPLACING THE CONVERTER TO AVOID DAMAGE TO ANOTHER ONE.
