03 s/c 4x4 FRONTY???????

seriously considering the s/c version of the fronty. not sure if they are as relaiable as the standard v6. any info much appreciated as feedback on this issue is hard to find on the net. I drove both and the s/c feels sweet, but if they are known for problems I will stick to the straight v6.
thanks.

is that the VQ35DE (VQ30DE?)? I know that the VQ series V6's have been on car and driver's 10 best for over 10 years now, you shouldn't have any problem with the powertrain. Nissan (usually outside US) also makes a badass AWD/4WD system, so I think you're in good hands.

Actually, its not the VQ series engine in the Frontier S/C. Its the VG33ER. Too bad its SOHC. It pumps out 210hp and 240 ft/lbs of torque. Not a bad engine, if you ask me.

ahhh, ic. I'm surprised it's not a DOHC. well, the VG series is just below the VQ series and Just above the VE series...am I right? I think that truck can hold it's own tho.

thanks for the info...

appreciate your opinions, even though I got blasted by some Jays for posting such an advanced question on this forum.
I think I will go with the straight 6 and put the money saved towards some nice tires.
thanks again..

frwinks,

There is not a Straight-Six availible on the Nissan Frontier Pickup. It is a 2.4 Liter Inline 4 -- the KA24DE, which was used in the 92+ S13-S14, U13 Altima, and the L30 Altima. Its one hell of a strong engine, and if treated right, will run for a very long time.

u mean an N/A V6? Straight 6 means all 6 cylinders are inline like a 4cyl.
