Cabin air filter?? On '02 Front

I started taking things apart, glove box & some of the plastic housing around the A/C evap. in an effort to find & replace the filters, but I couldn't see/find any. What's up with that? I was told that my truck does have them, if that's true, where?

Thanks.

no it's an option. if it didn't come with the filter I believe you can buy one and just slide it in though... I was told that's all they do at the dealership and then charge you 29 extra!

later,

If you remove the glovebox, you'll have access to the A/C plumbing. There is a marked cutout for the cabin filter. All you have to do is make the cut out in the plastic housing and slip the filter in. The filters run about $30 or so.

Wow, that's good to hear, I thought I was becoming mechanically dis-inclined for a minute?

I'm not so sure I really need to install them, I just figured they were already in there, & they were probably dirty & should be replaced.

I'm a little curious as to where the cutouts need to be made. Anyone have any good pics showing this? It's no biggie, but if someone can post photos, that would be cool .

Thanks for answering my original question anyways!
