Hi, On my 1997 Nissan xe 4x4 pickup (not frontier), My front drivers side squeals from time to time. It is not the brakes! I just replaced the calipers and pads, it squealed before the brake job and after too. What the heck can be causing this? It comes on all of a sudden, and is LOUD! Then the next day it is gone for weeks or even months at a time. Could it be the 4x4 or the wheel bearings? It has been doing this since 1998 when I bought it. PLEASE HELP!!
you should find out wether or not the sound has any coralation with you using the brakes because usually when you take your car to the shop to have the brakes or something easy to work on the mechanics will do a shity job or use shity parts other then that you might have a warped rotor but very unlikely to be any other parts or you could jack the car up and shake the tire to see if there is any unusual play cuz that means the wheel bearings are bad
I did the brakes myself. I used good pads and rebuilt calipers. So do you think it isn't the wheel bearings? The wheel is tight when I jack the truck up and wiggle it. I don't want the wheel to fall off or anything.
Could be the a/c. Mine squeeled like heck until I shot some WD40 on the pulleys and clutch. The factory grease starts drying out and it really screams. Since I did that, and tightened the belts a little, the front end quieted right up...maybe the front wheel bearing is running dry or could have a bad bearing? Just tossing out suggestions...
