93 tail light problems

I hve a 93 nissan pickup and i am having problems with the tail lights. The tail lights are not working, however the brake lights, reverse lights, and blinkers work fine. I replace the bulbs for the tail lamps which are 158 bulbs and checked the fuse and replaced it, and still i am having no luck. I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas or if anyone has had this problem and knows how to fix it? so please help if you can. thanks

Along the same lines, but not your problem, the plastic stopper that activates the brake lights wears out on our trucks. Where the brake pedal (actually at the top on the steel section of the pedal under the dash) meets the switch that actvites the brake lights there is a plastic stopper. The stopper comes into contact with the switch when you press the brakes. If your brake lights ever come on and stay on, it's probably this bit of plastic that has broken. I have a friend at work with an '86 and his did the same thing. It must be common to most years. I simply put a bolt and a nut through the hole where the plastic was and that worked just fine. It might be a good time to check the condition of yours while you're working on your other lights.
