I've noticed around the racing scene, some break-ins are done quite different on these newer cars. I've seen people put about 500 miles on them - change the oil (usually to synthetic) and then run them like hell out on the track

Its probably rough on the valve train, but I guess it helps adapt the car for harsh driving and quicker response - IMO. I guess most figure if something breaks - its under warranty

Anyway - I ran my Z06 at a high-speed driving course when it was a few hundred miles below break-in and I was very happy with how the car responded afterwards.
