Replacing tailight on Pathfinder?

Today, I failed inspection at the DMV because the bottom centimeter of the lens of my taillight is shattered and "light shines through". Yea-OK. So, I have 45 days to replace it, or they'll eat me, or something.

So here's the question-is it possible to replace the fixture using simple tools or will it take a mechanic to replace it? If it's relatively easy, would you mind telling me what steps I would take to replacing it on my own? Thank you much.

what year is it. and it should be just some screws to take it out. shouldnt be to complicated. you could always go to your local shop and look at a haynes manual. that will tell you all you need to know.

1997. I'm going to go open it up right now to see if there would be wiring involved. Last time I checked, Pep Boys only had a Haynes manual for Pathfinders up until 1996, but I wasn't searching for one. I'll check again. Thanks.

Ah, upon inspection, I've realized I could just order the casing, take the 3 lights out of the taillight fixture, place those 3 lights into the new casing and all is set. I'm not going to have to worry about wires or anything. Awesome.
