I have heard from a few people that it would be possible to put a Mustang 5.0 engine in a 92-93 Nissan Hustler... wondering if anyone has any info on a swap like this... (i know it's possible... anything is possible...) but i just wanna know if anyone's done it and what/if what all would probably have to be customized...
Is it a pickup?Never heard of that model before!.I don't know of any prefabbed mount kit, so you would need to fab up mounts. The whole list of things to consider for an engine swap are as follows:engine mounts, trans mount , clutch linkage, power steering lines, speedometer hookup, altenator interface with the wiring harness, radiator capacity, fans, driveshaft length and yokes ,exhaust system, exhaust manifold interference with frame and steering shaft, front springs/torsion bars-proper rate and ride height, hood clearence,A/C system issues, oil pan clearence(short deck Windsors are either front or rear sump pan),accessories and how they clear the body/frame,and gauges. That's all I can think of for now.Not all of these issues will be a problem, but you do need to solve most of them before you start.

Yeah, I'm sure it can be done. - Just take ALOT of TIME & MONEY. My project vehicle is an 88 4 cylinder automatic mustang vert, that I swapped over to v-8 and manual with a 5 lug disc brake conversion on all corners and a but load of darn near everything else. The 5.0 I used came out of a 93 mustang. I had to swap out the engine computer which was easy - it only had one harness which ran all the engine stuff. You will need to add in the engine harness to work along with the current body harness. I'd also take the tranny along with the engine and heck if you can find a wrecked stang, just take as much as you can. The exhaust is obuviously going to be a custom job, the main concern is fitting everything in under the hood plus all the custom fab work to make all the Ford stuff mesh with the Nissan stuff. Oh yeah, what is the Nissan Hustler?

'93 Nissan HardBody (quarter ton...) sorry, see the reason i am wondering is cause i've had like 5 people tell me that it is possible with little to no mounting problems (including tranny and rear end... drive shaft would be custom of course) finding a wrecked (heh) Mustang 5.0 would be the trouble though...
i know this is an old post, but i haven't been around lately to check up on how it is going... i know i'd need thicker tred plus an LSD cause the rear end would be so light (that's why i'd use the rear from the mustang if all possible) just wondering what yall have heard... there is litterally TONS of room under the hood of this beast and it was a TL before so it's more or less gutted to the core (minus essentials... and a radio... gotta have a radio) i just want something that looks stock farely cheep to do... but will roll on any little rice rocket in my home city... and 5.0 seems like the answer (my city sucks)
OH and Mustang 5.0 Auto or Standard... which would be less hassle (the truck is a standard already but the linkage would be different....)
---------------EDITTED LINE-------------------
OH YAH HAS or does anyone know if i can take the existing bench out of my truck and add buckets? i hate slidding around on the bench so just wondering...
ALSO looking for a Chrome front bumper for my truck as well (had a little... accident (w00ps) if anyone could lemme know some prices (CDN) i would appreciate it)

No one likes the Ford AOD(E) trans(unless it has a Lentech valvebody),so I would go with the T-5-even though you would need to fabricate the clutch linkage-especially the clutch quadrant attachment point. It needs to be inline with the clutch pedal pivot point and will require welding to work.

I'd go with the C4 they're tough and you can get a built one for under a grand. If you want an AOD try to find on from a supercoupe they are the heavest built from the factory.
this is a ranger site and they say the cheapest swap for the ranger is 302 & C4.
you'll need to upgrade the radiator, electric fan, rear end, rear suspension, probably the drive shaft. The two piece found in most nissans was not designed to be used past 100mph
