Although I don't like the looks, I'm very interested in a new Frontier Crew Cab Long Bed 4x4. Can you Crew Cab owners enlighten me on what you like/dislike? Is the supercharger worth the extra money in your opinion? Tell me your thoughts!!! Thanks ahead of time...
I have a 2001 Frontier SC CC shortbed. I really like my truck. The configuration you are looking at is the heaviest. Typically I see about 12-14 in the city and maybe 19 on the highway.
The SC I can go either way on. I like the power it gives, but it comes at a cost: premium fuel. Now that the SC has been out for a bit it seems to be hilding up fine. I only know of a few instances of them failing and the powertrain warranty too care of that.
I did test drive a LB in 2002 when they came out and it seemed the same to me until it came time to park. That extra bed makes a big difference.
Thanks for the input. I'll check out nissanfrontier.net (didn't know there was one!). It's the practicality of the truck I like. I like the 4 doors (my wife and I may have children soon) and the length of the long bed vs. competitors. Anyways...thanks again.
I've got 36,000 miles on mine and not one problem. It's hauled whatever I needed & no problem w/ the length of the shortbed. It fits in my garage @ home & my parking deck @ work. Every family needs a truck and I'm glad I choose this one. The torque @ the wheels is the only shortfall, but it will still get up & go. My friends were suprised w/ how it handled & wife said the suspension is too stiff! Anyway I got this truck because I have a family and the kids fit no problem. Now that I have the truck out of the way I can look into getting the Skyline!!!! (in about three years)
Recently bought a 03 SVE 4 x 4 Crew Cab short bed supercharged. Nice truck. Sweet power and acceleration, a dream to park. One drawback, it IS a ticket magnet. 2 tickets in a week for speeding, never going any faster than I have driving the same stretches of highway over the past 4 years, ie 8 over the limit, 12 over the limit and just generally keeping up with traffic.
Look at the bright side, I actually had a lady come up to me and start yelling that her roadbank was not being properly maintained and that she paid entirely to much in taxes for the city to slip up like this. It took my 5 minutes to get a word in and 10 more to convince her that although I did have a white base model cookie cutter pickup, I did not work for the city. So, yeah, while you do have a ticket, door-ding, bird poop magnet, you will never have to deal with irrate misguided little old ladies threatening to turn you in to the mayor. Aaron
