SDS question for BOOSTBOY

Question,
I'm going to rebuild my KA but I can't make my mind up. I would like to make 170hp(crank) when I'm done. To do this N/A I thought about a motorsport R4 cam, 9.5to 1 pistons, 240sx intake. Or build it with 9.0 to 1 forged pistons for boost.

How hard is it to get the SDS system up and running. I have all but decided I want to try this on my truck. As I will in future I will be using this on something. Tuning my on engine, having complete control has always fascinated me. I am just a little scared of hurting something. Will I be able to coax more power out than the factory computer. As I said for now I'm going N/A
but for $1900 I can get a non I/C turbo kit, that will be future. Which for a truck at low boost wouldn't be dangerous, I don't think. N/A for now. Turbo later SDS to make the best of both worlds

I did the math and if I want to make 300 crank HP on 8lbs of boost(for dependabilitys sake). I will need 167hp naturally aspirated. Now thats strictly math not experience. 300hp is an end goal. For now this is a work truck, then it will become a cruising truck, and finally a lets have some real fun truck.

I'll know about the B12 friday

thanks If I get I'll need some more advice

Installing the SDS is not as hard as you think and actually it is very well worth the investment. Having full control of your tuning instead of send ing an ecu or chip back and forth to someone really sucks for the real time tuner. If you decide to go this route, the folks at race tech (SDS) or myself will be able to assist you with this install. The most difficult part about installing the SDS is the mounting of the hall sensor. Once that's established, the rest is academic. You should be able get all the power you want from the KA family motors, but if you're going to be screwing with a b12 sentra and CA18DET, if you're prepared to spend a few $$$'s, I could help you get as much HP as you need and do it reliably without breaking transmissions and silly stuff that the SR20 gang endures.

Good Luck on your build. Please send specs and pics during and after you get it done, as I think there are many of us that would like to follow your progress. Aaron

Boost, for now I've got to study. There is quite a bit of info on the SDS site. I've been going through it and studying it. I'll have to be pretty close to comfortable with anything I do before I start. Do you know of some good reference material that I could read concerning nissan specific engine buildups. I get a lot of good info concerning my stang from "muscle mustang and fast fords". Its a good mag with lots of in depth tech.

Which system would you recommend for my app. Can I or would I? want to keep my factory ignition.

Dump the factory ignition as the coils will saturate at or around 18psi of boost! Nissan specific material reading can be found all over the net, but in particular and especially where I post at as well is:http://www.nissaninfiniticlub.net/vb...s=&forumid=12. Hopefully you'll find some useful stuff there as I'm not the only Guru there!
