Question Hardbody Graphics

I've got a 97 Hardbody 4WD, thinking about taking the side graphics off...any insights on doing this/recommendations against it based on any faded paint issues? The paint on my truck's still in great shape, but I don't want it to look like I removed graphics. Thanks!

When I was in the service - I worked part-time @ a dealership as a porter. I used Carb-cleaner to remove dealer labels and other adhesives. I also used it to help remove the lower decal on my Nissan truck. Goof-off or other adhesives removes would probably work - don't know for sure if those hurt paint. Anyway, my truck looks real clean now w/o decals

My truck color is the cranberry red color...don't know which red that is? Would simply using a hair dryer as a heat gun work? Thanks.

I also have a 97 but 2wd and removed the graphics on mine a few months ago. They were getting a bit old looking and had some places on corners etc. that didn't look too good up close. I used a hairdryer to remove mine. Try to be careful and keep the temp in a medium zone as to be able to remove the graphics better but not too hot as to where the adhesive backing stays on your paint instead of the back of the graphics. You can still get it off your paint but it'll sure take alot longer. You may also be able to let your truck sit in the spring/summer sun real good and try it without a hairdryer. It took me about 3 1/2 hours to do the entire truck at leisure pace. Mine is also the cranberry red and the paint was already in excellent condition so I can't tell at all that the graphics have ever been there but that may not be your case if your paint has faded at all. In the end I'm pleased I removed them...It looks better to me.

Good luck,

Brian
