Mass air flow sensor problem?

For the last 3 summers, I have had a problem with my 87 Nissan pickup 2wd 2.4L. When it gets hot out (90 plus), my vehicle will cut out while driving at a steady speed between 20-35 mph. It cuts out just momentarily, creating a jerking motion. I brought it in to the mechanic once, and they said it was my egr valve. I had it replaced but it did not fix it. I also brought it in last fall and they could not find anything, but they thought it could maybe be the mass air flow sensor. Has anyone had a similar problem?

I had the same problem with my 96 PU,and found the answer to be the MAF sensor. It was expensive, but fixed the problem.
