Question Old Trucks needs help Dying on the Road

Hay,

Hoping Someone can give me some information my truck is giving me a headach .. and i can't figure it out ..

Truck Info :
Nissan KingCab 1988 .. no major problems , a good little truck .. had a cooling problem in the winter changed the thermostat .. after that , all was well .. checked all of the pipes and cables related .. nothing wrong , Plugs .. oil , all fluids changed on a regualy schedual ..
241,000 KMS on the truck ..

Problem .. While driving the truck will cut out .. completly .. i have to roll it off the road and just give it a few min's ( A least 10 min or more ) if i do not it will not start .. will turn over but does not start ??? .. trying to figure out the problem . thought that it might be somthing electrical or the fuel pump ? these are my best guesses ..

if any one can help would be great ..

Thanks So Much ..

Wow, that sucks... You are going to have to try to start it after it quits with starting fluid to find out where the problem lies. If it starts, it is in the fuel system, if not, look for a spark problem. Kinda sounds like a spark module in the distributor overheating or an intermittent fuel pump relay, but that is a wild ass guess. Let me know if it starts and we will go from there. Aaron

My guess is the ignition module.A friend of mine had a Buick Skyhawk that did that and it was the module.

My 1987 4 cylinder pathfinder did the same thing 2 days ago. After I let it cool down then I would start over with it running very poor after 5 minutes. Today I went and checked the ECCS and it did not register any new codes. I checked all lines and they seemed to be OK. Then the problem went away. I took it for a short test drive and it ran fine. Good luck because I really did not do anything that I can pin point to correct the problem.
