Newbie Here, Just Bought a 1996 Pickup, Need some Advice..! :)

Hello, I just registered on this forum.. I just got a 1996 Nissan Pickup, hes white, 2.4 L 5 speed, standard cab.. (2WD obviously)

Long story on how we got it, it was a fleet truck that was always serviced at my family's business..(Jiffy Lube) and there was a problem with it after a routine service, and instead of paying the insurance deductible my father bought it from the fleet owner for $1250... he knew I needed a daily driver, so, after some work done to it..(turns out there was no problem with it, the guy who went to start it didnt put the clutch in all the way and it didnt start..)

We're replacing the tires, checking the brakes, changed the fuel filter, air filter, serviced the tranny and rear differential.. the back glass had to be replaced because it was cracked..

Anyways, this truck has 180,000 miles on it, but its always been serviced at our stores, so we have a full maintenance record on it. Im going to start running 20w50 oil in it, because its a higher mileage engine.. the paint is chalky because of the lack of care to the exterior in the past 7 years..

Can anyone tell me a bit about these trucks?? I will be picking it up next week (after finals are over) and it will be my daily driver, to go to school and back and, well, everywhere else.. my other car is a 2000 Camaro SS, and she's already got 55,000 miles on it from all the driving I do...

Do you think a plug and wire change will be necessary? If so, I can do it myself, no problem.. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.. Thanks in advance..

Change the plugs...10 bucks well spent, I would not worry about wires unless there is obvious wear to the ones in there, but if you do need to change them just use stock nissan wires.

And welcome to the forum

EDIT : YEA another SODA guy ... SODA POWA!!!!
