Weber Carbs

Was browsing around some other forum items and came across this...

http://www.paeco.com/webers.html

So I got to thinking...

Has anyone every put a Weber carb on any of the Nissan engines???

These carbs are outstanding performers...Alpha's, Ferrari's etc...
If it's possible to do this, this just might be a better deal than charging...

Any thoughts???

I put twin DCNF's on my Fiat way back when. I was forever messing around with the jetting and it would never idle smoothly.
It did look sexy though and the sucking sound of the air rushing in was wonderful.

You're right...back in the 60's the Webers were a lot of trouble...but compared to the Carters, Strombergs et al, when the worked, they were marvelous!!!...

But I suspect now with computerized ignitions systems, those problems are essentially gone...

The Webers are standard on some of the "top $" sports cars and I think they are used on most, if not all of the naturally aspirated race cars...

So, just curious if anyone has tried them...

check the nissan motorsports catalog they have a few weber conversions for different vehicles ka24,l series. Quite a bit of the older stuff is covered. You can completely do away with the computer on the ka24e. You have to convert to an l20 distributer.

try www.courtesyparts.com and click the nissan motorsports icon.

They used to use them on the old L series engines I believe, like the 240-280zx and 510,610,and 710 and also the Fairlady roadster. In fact, the factory used sidedraft carbs new on these engines!(I believe they were Mikuni's or SU's,but don't know for sure)
