Question Sparkplugs

Do I really have to remove the intake manifold to change the plugs?

Did I miss it somewhere? What year model and motor do you have?

In any case, I don't see why someone would have to remove an intake manifold to change plugs. Are you sure you didn't mistake it for the intake system - i.e. aircleaner, snorkel, etc??? Where did you get your plug installation tip from? - just curious

I was planning to change all 6 spark plugs on my '97 Pathfinder this weekend, only to find that the 6th plug is way in the back, not accessible, unless you take the engine cover off. This is insane!!!

The 6th plug is accessible with the tools that came with your 97 Pathfinder, look in the small bag that has the jack tools. There should be 3 pieces that are used to remove and install the plugs.

Or a multitude of swivels, extensions and a box of band-aids. After you do it once, it will get alot easier. Good luck.

I'm getting ready to do the same to mine this weekend. How tough were the plugs to get out? That 6th one looks impossible to get at. Any tips before I take the skin off my hands??? Thx.
