Help with factory stereo on 95

First time poster on this board, so I hope I someone can shed some light on this:

I just bought a '95 Pathfinder this weekend (pick it up tomorrow). One thing I noticed is that the stereo "doesn't work". I haven't had any time to play with it yet, but I do know that the car battery was just changed. Because of this, I'm wondering if it may have caused the stereo to be reset, and perhaps locked??

I will check the wires when I get the car, but has anyone heard of a security "lock" on these? The stereo looks like it's the factory one, with some Japanese lettering on it.

Any help would be appreciated.
Also, anything else I should be aware of on these '95's?

One more question.. How is this car as far insurance goes?

Thanks.

Welcome, if the stereo isn't working,it might be the amp in the RR cargo area. These are known to go out. Your best bet is to bypass it and install an aftermarket deck.

As far as stuff to watch out for... Manifolds studs tend to break causing a exhaust leak, have the timing belt done at 105,000 miles, and add a tranny cooler to get longer life out of the tranny. The stock cooler lines tend to get clogged easily.
