KA24E Performance Mods Wanted

I have a 97 2wd hardbody truck with the KA24E motor and a 5 speed. It only has 60k miles and has always run great but always seemed to lag badly in the horsepower department versus other similar model nissan trucks with the same engine. Don't get me wrong...I'm not expecting it to have V-8 performance but just feel it should have more power than it does. I recently gave it a full tuneup, engine leakdown, and checked the timing and all checked out ok but it is still just as weak. I thought maybe the catalatic convertor may be going bad but looks like it would have wiped out the fuel mileage badly. It still currently gets around 23-26 mpg. I'm looking to do something to sqeeze a few more horses out of the stable without spending an arm and a leg and hopefully without sacrificing the fuel mileage much. Who makes a good header to fit this combo and is it worth the trouble of changing? Any other hop up suggestions or links very much appreciated.

Check out the Nissan motorsports(NISMO) catalog.They have lots of stuff for the KA24E in there(but surprisingly not for the KA24DE-last time I looked).I think the 240SX(89-90) may have used more efficient intake and exhaust manifolds along with a bigger cam but I'm not really sure.You may want to look at the S13 240 forum and see if there's any info there.(BTW, this engine was also used in FWD form in the Stanza and Axxess)
