Nissan Cabstar - where's the chassis number

We own an "H" reg Nissan Cabstar. It's been MOT'd at the same garage for the last 5 years. It has now gone to a new garage and passed it's MOT but they will not issue the certificate because the metal Chassis plaque was missing. They have since tried to find the embedded Chassis number but to no avail.

The Cab has been literally emptied and searched, 2 other garages (and a Nissan garage) have tried looking for the embedded chassis number, but it can't be found. We can get a new plaque but will cost us 70 quid! Appears that the old garage was just copying the chassis number from the previous supplied MOT certificate!

Can anyone point us in the right direction?

While my knowledge of my nissan vehicles is quite extensive, I am afraid I have absolutely no clue as to what you are talking about. Perhaps explaining why you pay for stuff using squid would be a good place to start. Do you have any pictures of an H mot'd nissan? That is not a subaru h-block style motor (engine) is it? My guess is that you are not from 'round here, are you?

I dare say, this chap just may be British! If you are, then greetings form "across the pond"! As for the chassis plate I have absolutely no idea what the US equivalant of this vehicle is or even WHAT it is!Send a pic if you could,I love seeing foreign market stuff.
