Question Slow Idle

Our 1992 Pathfinder 3.0L has started to idle low - 450 to 500 rpm in gear, foot on the brake (i.e. stop light). My repair manual says that no idle adjustment should ever be required since this is all electronically controlled. Does anyone have any experience with this.

Also, I noticed today that the throttle cables are quite loose. I am planning to tighten these up, but i don't think they have anything to do with our idle problem.

Help please?

Cable has no effect on idle , Start by cleaning the throttle chamber good m Clean all the carbon off the plate inside and see if the idle comes up on it , You may have other probs but this is a good starting point
