95 pickup idle problem

Hello, was just wondering if anyone else has an idleing problem with their 95 Nissan truck.

It doesn't always have problems just every now and then. You can even be driving and slowing down and it'll cut off every now and then. I've noticed while its idleing during one of its showing out moments, you can see the rpm's kinda reving up and down around the 1000 rpm mark. But it doesn't do this all the time, but once it starts it has a good spell then eventually stops doing it again..

Now, for the heck of it, I popped open the hood of the truck and just wiggled some wires around and found that some of the ones that run under the air filter if you move them you can hear the engine idling very poorly and then when you stop it'll smooth back out again. But yet there'll be other times when the engines running fine if you do the same as I mentioned above it'll not do anything out of the ordinary, just a smooth idle..

Now I know my Truck isn't haunted or anything :-) but I am curious to hear if anyone else has had an issue with theirs on a similar matter? Or even if you've had to replace your wireing to your head lights due to it burning the wires up.. Things just fried. My fuel pump wires burnt up once as well if that helps anyone.. Almost feel as if this vehicle of mine can't manage electricy correctly....

Comments? Suggestions? Solutions? All welcomed

wait,wait,wait... let me get this straight. You've had to replace you're headlight wiring and fuel pump wiring because they fried That's not normal. I've never seen that one before unless somebody has been messing with the wires like a fuel pump cutoff switch or trying differrent types of lighting systems.

As far as the part under your air filter, that's called you're air temp sensor and it will cause a funky idle. easy to replace and a cheap part too. I've been thru two of those on my truck.

What caused all of your wiring to fry

I wish I could tell you what caused the wire damage, I had to replace the fuel pump which had thicker wiring I noticed and I replaced my headlight wires on the battery (( the small ones )) with much thicker gauge wiring and thats held up so far.

So you think it could be my air temp sensor gone bad? Heh heck i'll give it a shot.. I hate the random idling problems I keep having.
