Your thoughts, about to purchase an Xterra

I've been looking for a good, reliable SUV and I think I've decided on an Xterra. I found one in my local paper that appears to be a good purchase. I'll get an pre-purchase inspection done and do the normal homework. My research on the Xterra has shown a pretty satisfied bunch of owners over all.

I found a copy of the owner's manual for this year/model and I have a few questions.

Do you all know if the 105,000 mile change date for the timing belt is still set at 105,000? I know that sounds odd, but I've found that sometimes the manufacturer may come out with a better belt or some new info and change the date.

That said, how much is a fair price to pay for a timing belt job on an Xterra?

The one I'm looking at has 103,000 miles on it. So its due now for the change.

Are there any questions you guy/gals would want to ask the seller given your knowledge of the Xterra?

Thanks again...

Expect to pay between $600-1100 for a new belt, tensioner, water pump and seals. That should be dealership price, too. The timing belt change interval should be 105K for all of the VG33's.
