my son was driving my truck and all of a sudden the instrument panel stopped working. well a fuse blew and is drawing 39 amps, well i cant find the direct short and was wondering if this has happen to anyone else. the wire color is white with black stripe. the haynes and chiltons manuals dont show enough info. is there a good manual out there? also have disconnected the instrument cluster and it still blows. any info would be great. thanks alot in advance Darrin

There is wire harness that runs along the dash support , If you look up from the drivers side under the dash up to where the back of the radio is there is a veritcal metal support holding the dash , Look closely where the harness runs beside it and you will probably see it has rubbed thru and is shorting on the metal bracket , There are ususally burn marks on the bracket also , You have to look hard to find the spot but its there
