I am having a problem with my truck and any help would be greatly appreciated.
My truck has been giving me intermittant starting problems that led to it not starting today.
When I turn the key all my ignition lights appear and I hear a click. It acts as if the theft warning system key is not plugged in.
First thing I did was try and jump batter. Nothing happen.
Second pumped clutch and tried to start because maybe there is something wrong with the clutch ( clutch needs to be depressed in order to start)
Is this a starter, solenoid, theft system or something else.
What steps could I take to narrow this down. I have the Nissan hardbody Mechanic manaul.

You can eliminate the clutch interlock relay by removing the plug(s) from it and jumpering, with a heavy gauge wire, power to the wire going down to the starter. Looking at the plugs/wires going to and from the relay, it should be obvious that the larger ones carry juice to the starter.
I recently went through troubleshooting an intermittent no-crank. Touching the relay, I could feel the it move when I had someone step on the clutch pedal with ignition power.
It should be near the battery, on the passenger side fender.
You should be able to rebuild your starter if you don't want to spend the cash. I was in enough of a jam that I just took an off the shelf reman from Autozone.
Junkyard starters aren't that pricy, either. Replacing the brushes is pretty easy on these starters, too. I did mine in about 30 minutes.

because the shop told me that the starter was drawing too much amperage off the battery. It would start but each time the battery would get weaker and weaker. Then after a day it would start fine. I've got an aftermarket alarm that's under the steering column. There's and audible click from the starter. I've got a manual for this 96 automatic P/U and I've done lots of repairs, but this starter's going to be hard to get at, by the looks of it. I HOPE it's the brushes... Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. BTW Great forum lots of info!
Thank you all very much for your help and it was the starter!
To reitirate, 95 Nissan 4x4 v6
I removed the tire, oil filter, and skid plate.
The starter had two bolts and three connecting wires.
The starter pushed out towards the front of the truck and then dropped down.
