Xterra Alarm

I just got a 2002 Xterra Supercharged 4x4 and I absolutely love it! I drove a 1995 Pathfinder XE 4x4 for 4 years and was amazed by the truck!
First question: I have a keyless entry remote that has a button for panic alarm, but I can't find anything in the car that leads me to believe there is actually an alarm (although it does honk and the lights flash when I press the button). I am living in St. Louis right now and I am not too excited about my new truck sitting out without an alarm on it, there would be a security light if it had one, right?
So, since I'm pretty sure there isn't one, does anyone have a recommendation of an alarm that would work with the truck and where to get it?

A second question: What type of audio system usually comes in the Xterras? As I said, mine is a 2002 Supercharged 4x4 with no sunroof (I don't know if it's an SE or an XE, it doesn't say on the back) and I bought it used a couple of weeks ago, is there a free site to look up the VIN and find out? Whoever owned it before had an aftermarket Pioneer CD player put in and I was just wondering why they did that. I thought that surely it came with a CD player, at least a single one. So, the aftermarket one does not seem to get very good reception with any radio station and it's rather annoying. Anyway, just wondering what they usually came with. My fiance said maybe it gets poor reception because it's not plugged in well to the antenna, so I guess we'll check that sometime. Thanks for your help!

your keyless entry/ panic alarm is just that, allows you to unlock/lock the doors and in case of an emergency, like someone trying to attack you, you can use the panic to get other peoples attention. most security lights on the dash work with the ignition system by disabling it when the vehicle is off and set, some do automaticly when shut off. chances are you should just go buy an aftermarket alarm system for the X, if you want an alarm.

as far as the audio, I'm not sure on that, possible the previous owner just thought they were getting a better deck, and it is possible that the deck isnt plugged in at the antenna connection as you fiance said, also check the antenna mount itself, and the if it is a non-powered ant. check were it screws on the base to see if there is rust or dirt in there.

I think you can go to Nissan website and punch in the VIN and it will tell you what model and if there are any recalls on the vehicle (like I said "I think")
