Frame Rust

I have a 1995 hardbody 2wd pickup. There is rust on the frame behind the rear wheels. The bed is bearly connected to the frame and the rear crossmember is rotted off. The bumper isnt on it because the last 7 inches of the frame on both sides is rotted. Is this fixable and if i did fix it is it legal to drive on connecticut roads.

If it is repaired/replaced correctly, I would think it is perfectly reasonable and legal to drive anywhere.

You should do a Search for "frame" & "rust". Someone a while back had some pretty serious rust problems on their frame (sounds like yours might be a bit worse) and they were able to do a good solid repair.

Good Luck. Post what you decide to do.

Cut off the rusty parts, weld on new steel, rustproof and coat with undercoat...get the idea?
