Brake problem?

I've noticed that on my 89' Hardbody Z24i when I press the brake pedal repeadedly the engine will begin to stumble and eventually die. I've done a full tune up including a scope and adjustment of the timing. I'm thinking that I have a possible vaccum leak? Even after the tune up I don't think it runs completely well. What are the other possibilities? Secondly, I'm coming up to an oil change. Do you think I should use genuine Nissan oil filters or go to aftermarket brands. I have been regularly using Purolator premium filters but I don't know if they are the best on the market.

check the vacuum line to the brake booster, there should be a one-way check valve, I would check that, this is only a guess.

The booster may be leaking down internally as well...

It looks like it's time to change out the booster. I had noticed that the booster was 'sweating' a bit with fluid, very little though since the brake reservoir stays full and I haven't ever had to top it off. Sometimes I get a flashing brake light which I guess is another warning... How hard are these to change out?
