Ok, I have searched through a couple of sites and have found a lot of info, but I still have some questions. I have a 95 Hardbody 2.4L 4X2, with 133k miles, and I am pretty confident these fluids have never been changed. I am planning on getting some Redline MT-90 for the trans and Redline 75W90NS for the differential (NS, since it is not an LSD from what I have read). So my main question is that I have read that the drain plug is too low on the trans to fully fill it up, but it appears that this is for 4X4 transmissions only. Am I correct in assuming that? From what I can tell, I should need ~2.1 qts for the trans and ~1.6 qts for the rear end. Does that sound right, or will I need to get more in the manual trans? Thanks for any help.

I use Royal Purple 75-80 in my 91 and have never had a problem and totally quite.
Tranny and Rear together will take a little over 3 1/2 Quarts.
Use GL-4 ONLY in the transmission. GL-5 will ruin the synchroes and eat the brass rings. I'm not kidding. Put GL-5 in there and it will ruin the tranny after a while. I've seen it happen repeatedly for different people. The rear diff takes GL-5, plain old gear oil.
Tranny takes 2L, rear diff takes 1.5L. I believe your numbers are correct.
