I wasn't happy about the tire choices available for my stock 16" wheels, so I figured it was a good time to upgrade the wheels.
I'm going to be putting on some 17" aftermarket wheels on my 2004 Quest. It will be too expensive to move the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) sensors on each wheel to the new wheels. In addition, the tire shop doesn't want to deal with the liability, and any future problems with factory warranty, etc.
Has anyone else changed out their OEM wheels with the TPMS system to something else?
I'm sure there must be a bunch of you out there. What happens to the TPMS system when the sensors "disappear" from the system? Will a warning light and chime come on at the console? If so, how do you reset/deactivate the TPMS warning system?
