Just get one with less than 300k miles and you'l be OK. Those trucks are about bulletproof and will run forever.

I don't know much about the pre-Hardbody trucks (<86.5), but any '87-'97 4-cylinder hardbody will do you good. The KA24E is an indestructible workhorse, and is EASILY capable of going 350k+ miles.
One thing you should find out... if it's an 86.5-95, find out of the timing chain has ever been done on it. The flaws with those trucks is the nylon guide and tensioner for the timing chain. They are prone to falling off and resting in the oil pan. Replacement components are much better.
If it's a '96-'97, it has a steel timing chain guide and tensioner from the factory. Nissan did this to eliminate the nylon falling off problem. The downside to this - much noisier. On startup, the chain will make a lot of noise for a second or two, until the oil pressure builds up and puts tension on the chain - this is normal. If it takes an excess amount of time, like 5 seconds or more, there might be a problem. Otherwise, the rattling noise is normal, and shouldn't be worried about when you buy the truck.
Regardless... these trucks are very well built, and will run forever in the right hands, with minimal maintenance.

Thanks for the feedback. I really want a Nissan, every time I start to look at something else I just keep saying to myself I will be disappointed if I do not get a Nissan.
