The guy w/ the wife who reversed polarity on the battery

So my truck is now in the shop. I found what seems to be the exact computer for my truck (86.5 4x4 z24i) Hooked it up and the fuel pump is pumping gas all over the place. Obviously there seems to be more than a ECM issue because the truck was doing the same thing with the "fried ECM" anybody got any clues as to where to start checking to fix this problem? I am losing a little hope in my mechanic because he wants to try a remanufactured ECM just to make sure the problem isn't the computer.

Don't know if this will help, but my computer stopped sending a ground signal to the fuel pump relay and it wouldn't pump gas at all. If gas is "going all over the place", you have other problems. When the electric shop "fixed" my ECM, they wired a temp ground to the relay and the now pump works all the time. The pump should turn off after five seconds when the ignition is on and the truck isn't started.
