hey guys i've been doing quite a bit or research on cheap and easy ways of lifting my 1993 2wd pickup a couple of inches (1.5-2 inches). i've read alot about adjusting the torsion bars , basicly i'm looking for the reasons why i shouldn't do it and how much lift i can get out of it safely without hurting anything. for the back what would be better, shackles or add-a-leaf type thing? thanks guys
you should be able to pick up a 2" body lift for about $75 then you can run some bigger tires... suspension lifts seems to cause things to wear out prematurely so I lean towards body lifts myself.
the body lift appears to be alot of trouble, while the shackels and torsion bars are pretty simple and easy to do. im open to any suggestions so keep them coming.
If you crank your tortion bars down to acheive the lift, it will throw off your camber, causing the outsides of your tires to wear REALLY fast. If you decide to do this, make very sure you take it to an alignment shop afterwards to correct your tires.

i adjusted my torsion bars to clear my 31's that i ran on my frontier, i cranked them to their max and added an ad-a-leaf to the rear and a 3''bl and it still rubbed on sharp turns when i hit a good bump. all i can say is "i would not feel good about putting coffee between your legs"
