The front locks will not engage when i try putting it in 4H. The transfer case is working fine. Can anybody tell me what could be the problem??? I have a 2000 Frontier.

check the hubs, are they automatic or manual, manual you have to turn the knob to lock them in, if they are auto reach around the tire and turn the axle to lock in the hub, this will tell you if the hubs are working, you need to do this to both sides, if they fail to lock you will probably need to rebuild the hubs as the springs have worn out, if they both lock, unlock them and chech the d/line to the frt diff and see if the axles are turning, if they are not (I'm not sure if your model has this or not) check the actuator on the frt diff, if you do not have one then you will need to open the diff and look inside. most likely at this point its bad news.
