New '05 Xterra S, owned 5 days, low tire pressure indicator always on

I noticed it as I was driving it off the lot on Saturday when I bought it, but figured I would check the manual when I got home. Just got around to checking it today and noticed it's the low tire pressure indicator light (horseshoe w/ an exclamation mark inside). Manual say it only comes on if you're driving at a certain speed, but mine is on all the time. Already made an appointment to have it looked at on this Saturday, just curious if there's something obvious I could look at to make it go off. Going to check my pressure today after work, but from a visual inspection, they seem fine.

Otherwise, loving my new XTerra ALOT

Those go off with as little as -3PSI. So get a good tire gage and check it. Should match your door jam recommended pressure.

This happened to my Frontier! It was a very frustrating deal until the dealer told me to fill the tires to 40 psi. This, for me, is due to the elevation of where I live. I live in close to Denver at about 5200ft and the tire pressure monitors are calibrated at sea level. I don't know if this helps or not. Even if you don't live at a higher elevation I think the common cure is just to increase the pressure in the tires.

In Denver here as well. Still haven't done anything with air, always a pocketful of change until I need it. I'm gonna go out today and fill them up, see if that helps. Thanks!

Also the cold weather affects the tire pressure greatly!! And it was single digit temps here when you bought it.
I will be lowering the tire pressure back to normal when the weather is little more consistantly warmer!!
