Need info on what size MAF sensors came in the trucks/vans/Maxima 3.0's
Ok this is a project that I'am doing and it has nothing to do with a Nissan rather a Toyota. What I need to know is what years had certain size MAF for the trucks, vans and Maxima 3.0. I need the biggest one if possible but it has to be mid 90's and older say 96 or older. I need to know as well if the connectors are the same through the years.
Now to give you a clue what I'am doing so this all makes sense. I have a 89 Toyota p/u with a 3.0 V6. Now unlike the Nissans these trucks have a VAFM which translates to Vane Air Flow Meter which uses a flapper door to tell the computer how much air is coming into the engines. These "door" a relatively small. Now you just cant bolt on a newer Toyota MAF sensor and call it a day since the work totally opposite and the computers programming is different. What I'am trying to achieve is pulling the whole harness, computer(s) and sensors out of a junk vehicle. Take those parts and make them work on the Toyota 3.0. Now the MAF on your vehicles are not as restrictive as the one on the Toyota. I will be using a Nissan one since it has the same firing order as the Toyota, 123456. Since these motors are similar displacent the computer should work fine. It will take some work and someone on Yotatech is reprogramming the computer so you can use a Toyota MAF but that would be around $600+. I'am trying to do a junkyard mod to keep the cost down and also to see if it can be done.
Thanks, James
