The switch in question is the one that is out when I hold the clutch pedal in slightly. (I guess that when the clutch is pressed in slightly the switch is open and when the clutch pedal is all the way out and the clutch arm is pressing the button in, the switch is closed). I hope this makes sense!

Is it the ASCD (cruise control) switch? I'm not sure why that would shut the engine off. Do you have cruise control? If so, is it operating properly?
