I just picked up a 94 nissan hardbody with 74k miles on it. It seems to have been very well taken care of. The problem after driving around for a bit and the car warms up it wont let me engage into first gear when at a complete stop and its hard to get it into second gear. When slowing to a stop i can get it into first gear. Also, how do i check the transmission oil in the truck.
Yes it is a manual. I heard about people haveing problems with it getting in gear when the car is cold. But after the driving the car for a bit is when the car wont go into first gear.
I ask because my tranny developed a hole in the case after the rear tranny crossmember rattled around loose for what was appearently a long time before i owned it. Gear oil is heavy and probably smells bad, especially dino oil. Inspect the leak for thick/smelly oil. Look under your truck just behind where the shifter is for fluid spatter/leaks. Look at the drive shaft where it hooks to the tranny.
I had problems shifting when my fluid got low. Check your tranny fluid. All you need is a 1/2" socket driver, a strong arm, and your finger to check for fluids. Download the FSM if you need to see diagrams. These FSM's are for the OBDII trucks but older models are physically similar.
the clutch pedal is starting to make squeeking noises when i push it in or release it. Not sure if that has anything to do with the clutch being bad.
did you check the fluid yet? could be getting hot due to lack of lubrication causing lots of problems. aside from a clutch not disengaging fully the syncronizers are the most common problem with shifting problems.

I wouldn't think so; my '04 with 11k miles has had a squeaky clutch pedal for a good while. Try some silicone spray or WD40 (works but is smelly) on the hinge points on the pedal.
