How do I pull axle shafts of a hardbody?

Help please! Im leaking oil and I dont want my brakes to catch on fire. I have a 87 hardbody 2wd. Will a slide hammer work or is there some kind of clip holding it in!

There is no clip in the differential if that is what your asking?

Your brakes will not catch fire.

Remember to replace your brakes and seal on both side!

Why? Because they both have the same milage.

I learned the hard way. I replaced the seal on one side. To include the brakes springs and brake cylinders on both side. Guess what blew 48 hours later (the oil seals on the other side!)

Yes as long as the Axle is OEM and has a sealed hog head (no inspection plate) then simply use a slide hammer if needed after removeing all the brake parts and seal houseing.
