1987 nissan kingcab z24 motor

I have a 1987 nissan king cab with the z24 motor 2.4L
vehicle is experiencing a driveability problem. when the car is running in park or neutral it runs perfect, but as soon as you put it in gear is starts to chug, miss, and backfire through the throttle body, i have pulled the codes and none were present. I have also replaced the spark plugs, and the MAF sensor
problem is still present,
other test preformed was injector test as outlined in the mitchell guide that tested ok., I'm completely lost and any help would be appreciated.

I would look for an intake manifold leak, vacuum leak, t-body gasket leaking, do you smell excessive gas at the t-body? if you don't then your running too lean, if you do your running too rich. also, check the egr for build up.
