91 pathfinder leaking gas

Hi everyone, nice forum you have here. I was wondering if anyone knows about 91 pathfinders? Mine has some issues. It has always smelled a little like gas from the outside; inside the truck it's undetectible. I had figured this to either be a rotting fuel line or a rotting gas tank, however it never leaks any gas. That is until recently. A week ago the temperature dipped below 20 degrees in Chicago, and when I started up the pathy one morning it reeked of gas. Shutting off the air vents did nothing to make the gas smell go away, and I do have a bad A-pipe to begin with, but when I popped the hood I saw a leak from one of the fuel lines leading to one of the "front" the injectors. I shut the engine off right away. My question is, how hard is it to change out a fuel injector and/or replace the fuel lines? Do I have to bleed the fuel system like I bleed the brake lines? Also, how hard is it to change out the fuel filter? It's a 91 pathfdiner SE with 150,000 miles on it, 4x4. Thanks in advance for any input.

it's the VG30-E. I'm pretty sure that I'll either have to replace the fuel rail and all associate hosing. That seems to be where the leak is comming from. It looks like it's comming out of the front left hose that attatches to the actual fuel rail.

My '92 has done the same thing when the temperature drops. I find that mine is a "loose clamp" problem. Try tightening the clamps on the rubber hose. Better yet replace the old piece of hose with a new one and new clamps - - this will ensure a better seal.

So far I have not replaced the hose on mine, I just keep retightening the hose clamp.

Give it a try...
