2001SE Pathfinder O2 sensor detects out of state gas
Has anyone experienced a rear O2 sensor problem driving from California to Arizona? It has happened to me twice in six months. I have only taken the car of out state twice (both times to Arizona). I got an SES and it was diagnosed as an O2 sensor...had it replaced in Arizona....on the way back it happened again (I got an SES)....in California it was determined that Arizona changed the wrong sensor...they reset the ECM and I had no problem. I just returned from the same trip and the SES came on again only after fueling up with Arizona fuel....I'm suspicious that if I burn off the last 1/2 tank of Arizona gas AND have the ECM reset that the SES will not come back on...and I suspect that the O2 sensor is just fine.
California has the highest emission control standards in the US and I have a hunch that the computer is sensitive to the California settings.
