I have a 2000 Pathfinder SE V6 4x4 I purchased new in 12/99. It currently has 56K miles. Recently I have started hearing belt squeal on start up. Upon inspection I find that the harmonic balance is coming apart (outer pulley separating from the rubber).

I had this same problem before at 36K (out of warranty due to time). Since the dealer stocks these I beginning to believe this is a common problem.

Is anyone else have this problem? If so have you had any luck having Nissan cover this? Is there a reason this is happening other than bad quality parts?
